Unit Secretary

Responsibilities:

Complies with PENN HIGHLANDS DUBOIS policies and procedures, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state or local law and regulations

  • Schedules outpatients for Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy
  • Enters daily charges for Inpatient, and Outpatient Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies into the HBO system
  • Performs all clerical functions.
  • Fills out paperwork for needed TENS UN ITS, etc.
  • Utilizes effective interpersonal skills relating to the patient, significant other, and members of the health care team
  • Other duties as indicated.
  • General duties as dictated

Qualifications

  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA REQUIRED.

  • ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN A HEALTHCARE RELATED FIELD IS PREFERRED

  • TWO YEARS EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A OFFICE SETTING REQUIRED

  • CPR CERTIFICATION FROM THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF HIRE

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

  • Knowledge and Understanding of regulatory requirements of third party payors such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Blue Shield



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
